- Reports to the Chair, Department of Surgery (clinically), Jefferson Medical Group Administrative team
- Assists the Department Chair in the performance of his/her duties, including:
- Responsible and accounting for all professional and administrative activities within the Division;
- Assuring the implementation of a planned and systematic process for monitoring and evaluating the quality and appropriateness of the care and treatment of patients served by the Division and the clinical performance of all individuals with clinical privileges in that Division;
- Maintaining continuing surveillance of the professional and clinical performance of all individuals who have privileges in the Division
- Developing criteria, including Practitioner Specific Quality Profiles, for evaluating the member's ability to perform privileges requested and current competence (OPPE/FPPE);
- Recommending to the Medical Staff the criteria for clinical privileges in the Department;
- Recommending clinical privileges for each member of the Department;
- Defining and monitoring the fulfillment of other academic and administrative duties as may be required by the academic relationships with medical, dental schools or podiatric;
- Coordinating and integrating interdepartmental and intra-departmental services;
-Developing and implementing policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of care, treatment and services;
- Recommending space and other resources needed by the Department or service
- Advises administrative leadership on equipment, new programs and services that necessary to grow patient volumes
- Manages the vascular surgery clinician team to ensure appropriate coverage of inpatient and outpatient venues of care
- Attends Medical Staff Meetings;
- Monitors office patient volumes to ensure appropriate clinical wait times for office care and surgical care
