Assists in the delivery of patient care and performance of established tasks and procedures under the supervision of a physically present and immediately available Registered Nurse/ Hospital Provider. Is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization. This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health.

Responsibilities
n
n - Must be able to perform the following tasks efficiently: perform/record vital signs, CPR, apply oxygen delivering systems, perform simple wound irrigation/direct pressure/dressings, prepare sterile field for suturing, assist provider with treatment when appropriate, apply restraints, clean medical equipment and prepare for sterilization, collect urine specimens, and phlebotomy

n - Assists in making observations, gathering data, and identifying patient care needs

n - Assists with patient transports and transfers
n
n
n - Answer telephones, filing, greet patients/visitors, transcribe provider’s orders, electronic data entry, and assist with documentation
n

n - Assists with cleaning, stocking, and maintenance of department equipment and supplies

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

None

Required Licensure and Certifications
n
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by the ND Department of Health and Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS)
n
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
n
Strong oral communications skills
n
Ability to deal with conflict and difficult people
n
Strong critical thinking skills
n
Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and their standards and processes
n
Ability to manage multiple priorities
