SUMMARY: Imperial Trading Co., LLC is looking for highly motivated and skilled CDL Class A Route Drivers to join our Team working from the Duncanville, TX area! MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid Class A CDL & current DOT medical card
  • At least 1 year (6 months considered) of CDL driving experience
  • Must be able to pass road test
  • Must have an acceptable driving record based on DOT and Company insurance mandates
  • Must be in compliance with DOT's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse provisions
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Primary purpose is to deliver products loaded and secured by the warehouse in a safe and courteous manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES: Additional duties, which are necessary to carry out the function of the Driver, may be assigned and are incorporated by reference into this job description.
  • Respective duties include, but are not limited to, the performance of safety-affecting activities on a motor vehicle used in transportation on public highways in interstate commerce;
  • Responsible for being constantly vigilant to detect unexpected road conditions, distracted drivers, and motorists who don't understand how commercial vehicles operate; and commercial drivers must operate in a safe manner in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations;
  • All Drivers, during the regular course of employment, may reasonably be expected to make an interstate journey;
  • Responsible for maintaining a valid and current CDL and Medical Card;
  • Reports to work on time, as directed by the Transportation Management, and completes all duties assigned in a timely manner;
  • Responsible for wearing proper uniforms while on company time or business, etc.; including any PPE such as steel-toe safety shoes;
  • Conducts daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle (truck, tractor, etc.) and equipment prior to departure and upon return from route; any defects are to be reported and brought to the attention of management immediately;
  • Complies with all Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) rules and regulations including, but not limited to, running a driver log on the Electronic Logging Device that is in each truck and/or tractor;
  • Utilizes the company's P.O.D. (Proof of Delivery) scanner to accurately deliver all product and/or equipment to any customer or company affiliate; unloads product of various sizes and weights from a straight truck or tractor trailer to customers using a 2-wheel dolly and trailer ramp or any other company issued safety equipment;
  • Responsible for accurate accounting of delivery paperwork to include all required documentation, accurate collection of cash and properly securing such cash and checks or other forms of payment approved by Accounts Receivable; this process is executed in accordance with current Departmental and/or Company Policy;
  • Drivers are regularly coached on unsafe driving habits using our Drive-Cam camera system; drivers MUST ensure the safe operation of equipment used and make sure that it is maintained and kept clean during use;
  • Required to take out overnight routes when necessary at Transportation Management's discretion;
  • Enhances and upholds our company's reputation by ensuring courteous customer service;
  • Performs above listed duties in a cooperative, capable manner, processing the information effectively and communicating the information as needed effectively to the immediate supervisor;
  • Performs any other duties assigned by Transportation Management;
  • All personnel within this job description shall be subject to cross-training into jobs within the organization based on Company needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands of this job include strenuous physical activity performing delivery activities to stores, warehouses, etc. Safety procedures such as 3-point contact while climbing in and around Heavy Transportation Equipment must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb ladders or ramps. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift 20-40 pounds and occasionally lift 50 to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently work in wet humid and freezing conditions and while working in outdoor weather conditions. The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate.
