Secondary Science Teaching Position (Long Term Sub or Permanent) Spring Semester 2024-2025 Reports To: Bristol Bay Borough School Principal
Salary: Appropriate Placement on the Teacher Salary Scale
Closing Date: Open Until Filled
Starting Date: On or before January 6, 2025 Location: Naknek, Alaska
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: - Bachelor Degree
- Current Alaska Type A Teaching Certification or Eligible to obtain one
- Strong Technology Skills - Highly Desirable
- Knowledge and experience with RTI/MTSS preferable
- Knowledge of multiple teaching strategies for diverse students
- Experience in cross cultural setting is highly desirable
- Committed to excellence
- Strong willingness to be a learner, leader and motivator
- Strong interpersonal skills including collegiality and collaboration
- Positive, enthusiastic, energetic and optimistic
- Able to develop rapport with students at all levels

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Provide quality science instruction to students grades 7 - 12
- Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
- Implement a wide variety of instructional strategies in the classroom
- Successfully implement district adopted curriculum and standards in daily lesson
- Accurately record, update, and share student progress information using record management technology
- Participate as a member of education team
- Use student assessment data to guide instruction
- Communicate with stakeholders concerning student progress
- Participate in staff meetings, staff development opportunities, staff in-service
