YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The OTRTruck Driver transports freight as instructed in a safe, orderly, and legalmanner; assures the timely and accurate pick-up and delivery of products andthe protection of those products in-transit; represents the Company in a professional manner with all customers,suppliers, warehouses, and other outside shippers; and inspects and assurescompliance with State, Federal, and DOT requirements with regard to the safetyof the equipment, the safe operation of the equipment, proper hours of service,and maintaining logs.
JobDescription:
- Transportsfreight in a safe, orderly, and timely manner as scheduled and instructed bythe Transportation Department, assuring scheduled delivery/pickup appointmentsare met.
- Notifiesthe Transportation Department of any delays or problems that will affect theproper servicing of customers (i.e., delays of any kind, equipment breakdowns,wrong product, damaged product, overages or shortages, hours of serviceproblems, etc.).
- Assurespick-up and delivery of correct products and quantities in good condition. Makes certain of proper loading and safety ofthe product in transit.
- Followsthe Federal DOT regulations for road safety and ELD requirements, as well asproper reporting of any violations
- Inspectsand assures the safety of equipment operated. Completes and turns in vehicle condition reports for tractor and trailertaken out upon completion of each trip.
- Completesand turns in trailer inspection sheets for each trip.
- Reportsall equipment damage to the Driver Manager and fills out appropriate paperwork.
- CompletesJM Swank. Transport, Inc. weekly packet (bills of lading and associatedpaperwork) and turns in at the end of every day.
- Attendanceat all drivers' meetings and training as scheduled.
- Assuresthat all appropriate Permit packets and Accident kits material are kept up todate in the truck. If additionalreplacement materials are needed please contact the Driver Manager
- Supportingother activities and projects as assigned or dictated by business priorities.
- Must befit to occasionally lift product onto a wheeler and wheel into the customer.

YOUR PROFILE Education and Experience: - Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Preferably two years of verifiable over-the-road driving experience.
- Completion of truck driving school desirable.
- Meet physical requirements.
- Pass DOT physical.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of safely climbing into and out of both a semi-tractor and trailer using the three points of contact rule.
