Job DescriptionnnWhat Patient Care Assistant, PCA will do:nnRespond to patient call lights for assistance or by roundingnObtaining vital signs from patientnProvide or assist patients with personal hygiene including showers, oral hygiene and dressing/undressingnTransports patients as needed for procedures, transfers or dischargenMaintains a clean and uncluttered environment in patient roomsnObserves patient's condition and progress (or lack of progress) toward defined outcomes, in collaboration with the RN.nPerforms other related duties as assigned.nnWhat Patient Care Assistant, PCA *will need: *nnHigh School diploma or equivalentnOne of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant, 6 months experience as a Patient Care Assistant or Nurse Technician in an acute care setting, completion of 1 clinical semester in nursing school, or completion of the MHSM PCA training program upon hire.nBCLS certification obtained within one week of hire.nWell developed communication skills, both written and oralnAble to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing divers perspectivesnArticulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of the organizationnDelivers patient care based on standards of care, standards of practice, and policies and procedures in collaboration with the RN.nn*Highlights: *nnMagnet designated facility with active shared decision making councils.?
