Tact Staff is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Socorro, New Mexico.

RN needed for our Family Birthing Center - Labor and Delivery and Mother-Baby Trained 75 MILE STRAIGHT LINE RADIUS RULE (not driving distance) - NO LOCAL TRAVELERS - Please only submit candidates that area aware of their submission to our facility. Please do not allow candidates to contact facility. Please only submit candidates with an active NM or compact license. Please note time off requests must be disclosed with initial submission to be considered for approval. Time off requested after the acceptance date will not be approved. When submitting candidates include at least two references (one must be from current manager), a resume, and completed skills checklist/competency assessment. 13 weeks assignment, 2 years’ experience in current specialty required. Must be a team player, flexible and accustomed to fast paced environment. Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment. CERTS : BLS, NRP, and AWHONN intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certifications required. BLS and PALS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross. Traveler must pass the BCA testing during first week of assignment. Travelers that do not pass the BCA test will be dismissed. EMR : EPIC EMR experience preferred. SHIFTS : This is a 12 hour varied shift position. Shift starts at 1700. Shifts may fluctuate to fulfill department staffing needs. No On call; however, weekends and holidays as needed. Traveling pairs are not guaranteed same schedules or same shifts. ORIENTATION : 1st week of the contract, not to exceed 40 total hours, and includes EPIC training. Scrubs required antepartum:

labor assessment and
evaluation
fetal evaluation and
assessment
evaluation for labor at
term, PTL signs, s/s of preeclampsia, rupture of membranes, decreased
fetal movement, preterm premature rupture of membranes, vaginal bleeding,
acute and critical conditions, such as MVA, large abruptio placentae,
if emergency medical
condition is determined to exist must stabilize the patient for delivery
or transfer to higher level of care if needed
Intrapartum:
labor assessment,
evaluation, and care
fetal evaluation and
assessment
preparation of expectant
mother for safe delivery
administration of
medications including but not limited to: Pitocin, misoprostol,
methergine, hemabate, mag sulfate, terbutaline, labetalol, nifedipine,
hydralazine, insulin,
immediate stabilization
of newborn
administer newborn
medications
prep for scheduled or
emergency cesarean delivery
Postpartum/Newborn:

assessment and care of
postpartum (vaginal and cesarean deliveries) and newborn patients
newborn care includes
(but not limited to): hearing screen, assisting with laboratory draws, IV
starts and care, medication administration (hep B, vit K, erythromycin,
antibiotics), assist with circumcisions, care of opiate withdrawal
newborns, stabilization of critically ill newborns for transport,
phototherapy, hypoglycemia care
