We are looking for a Bilingual Ship Operator, for our client in the shipping industry, located in the Old Port of Montreal.
Responsibilities :
- Carry out technical analyses and risk assessments for each voyage prior to issuing service offers, ensuring compliance with local, national and international regulations.
- Develop a thorough understanding of contracts to ensure their effective implementation in operations.
- Monitor trip progress on a daily basis (reports, fuel consumption, ETA) to identify risks and opportunities for optimization.
- Prepare loading plans to maximize efficiency while minimizing contamination risks.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring fluid and proactive communication.
- Participate in incident tracking and work with vessels to ensure availability.
- Actively participate in the optimization of shipping schedules to maximize cargo and reduce operational delays.
- Carry out performance studies and make recommendations to improve our processes.
- Prepare and transmit necessary instructions to vessels, including positioning documents and cargo declarations.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and internal procedures, contributing to their development to guarantee accuracy and integrity of operations.

Skills required:
- Degree in logistics, transportation, or related field.
- IMQ certification (asset)
- Significant experience in a similar position.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in computer tools and management software.
- Bilingualism
