We are on the hunt for an Intermediate Engineer, EGSE and Pre-Functional Testing on our satellite systems team at our Montreal office.
We are looking for a motivated and talented EGSE and pre-functional test engineer to join our team at our Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue office. The candidate will participate in the development of test solutions and equipment, and will support the testing of satellite electronics units.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop effective pre-functional test strategies for the test equipment that will be used to test satellite electronics;
- Collaborate with the design team to maximize pre-functional test coverage (“Design for Testability” (DFT) and “Design for Manufacturability” (DFM));
- Support pre-functional testing of satellite-integrated electronic units;
- Be part of an engineering team specialized in test equipment, otherwise known as Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE);
- Design and support the manufacture and/or programming of pre-functional test equipment;
- Produce design documentation such as electrical diagrams, assembly drawings, bills of material, etc.;
- Perform analysis and write test procedures;
- Support the procurement, manufacture and validation of pre-functional test equipment.
Experience and skills required
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent;
- Minimum 5 years of experience;
- Practical experience in pre-functional test strategy design;
- Printed circuit board (PCB) design skills;
- Ability to analyze electronic schematics;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment.
Assets
- Knowledge of IEEE 1149 (JTAG) “Boundary Scan” standard for pre-functional testing;
- Knowledge of Testway test coverage optimization software;
- Knowledge of Flying Probes pre-functional test technology;
- Knowledge of Python or VBA;
- Knowledge of microcomputers (Raspberry Pi / Arduino);
- Microsoft Office suite and Visio;
- Experience of working with burn-in systems.
Comments/Special Considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
