Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare the concept design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept report.
- Prepare the contract documents including the specifications.
- Evaluate shop drawing reviews.
- Ensure ASHRAE and LEED compliance where applicable.
- Coordinate with other disciplines both internally and externally.
- Engage in meetings with clients, contractors, and other consultants regarding project reports and findings.
- Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
- Create technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
- Perform calculations, create specifications, and equipment selection.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Post-secondary Degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant discipline required.
- Professional Engineering Designation (ing) required.
- 4+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings.
- Strong knowledge in HV substations, fire alarms, lighting, emergency power generation, MV and LV distribution systems, and large electrical systems.
- Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code.
- Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
- Highly effective conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
