Associate Criminal Defense Lawyer (Remote)
Our client, a leading criminal defense firm with multiple offices across Ontario, is seeking a highly organized and motivated Associate Criminal Defense Lawyer with at least 2+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have trial experience and be capable of managing cases from intake through to trial. This position is available at their Barrie or Windsor, Ontario offices.
Job description
Your new role
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Providing legal counsel and guidance to clients.
Reviewing disclosure and attending daily courts for remands.
Scheduling pre-trials and judicial pre-trials.
Conducting legal research and analysis on various legal issues.
Drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case files.
What you will need to succeed
To qualify for this role, candidates must:
Hold a license to practice law in Ontario and be in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
Have two to five years of experience in criminal law, with experience in impaired driving cases being an asset.
Possess strong advocacy and courtroom skills.
Have a thorough understanding and expertise in criminal defense matters, including charges, trials, and pleas.
Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
