Practice Details:
Northern Health is seeking a Family Practitioner with C-section and advanced operative delivery skills. Surgery would be limited to C-sections only. Prenatal Clinic work is required. Opportunities for GP Clinic work; Anesthesia and Emergency Room shifts also available if qualified.
Fort St. John Hospital is a new state-of-the art 55 bed hospital and 123 bed residential care facility serving a population of approximately 23,000 and a catchment area of approximately 70,000. It has a state-of-the-art Birthing Centre with 600+ deliveries per year and CS call shared between a solo specialist OBG and one advanced skills FP.

Qualifications:
Obstetric experience
Surgical experience
Eligible for The College of Family Physicians of Canada Cert. (CCFP)
Call Schedule:
Hours of work: MOCAP Level 1 for OB
On call requirements: Approximately 3-5 (24-hr) shifts per month
Compensation:
Estimated Gross Income: $350,000+
RSA Incentives:
Recruitment Incentive: $20,000
Moving Allowance: $9,000 - $15,000 (TBD)
Retention Flat Fee: $33,628.80
Retention Premium: 21.70%
Rural Emergency Enhancement Funding (REEF) and Medical On Call Availability Program (MOCAP) available on top of MSP billings.
Rural Education Action Plan (REAP) available.
Rural Continuing Medical Education (RCME) available.
Moving allowance available: $15,000 if moving from outside of Canada; $12,000 if moving within Canada but outside of BC; $9,000 if moving within BC.

The Fort St. John Hospital has 44 Acute Care beds and 124 residential beds and is equipped to handle 22,000 ER visits per year. Some highlights about the hospital include:
Endoscopy suite, 2 state-of-the-art operating rooms, plus a procedure room
Ambulatory clinics including Cancer and Hemodialysis
Medical and Surgical inpatient rooms (40 beds)
3 Intensive care units
Minor surgeries
7 single Maternity rooms for Labour, Delivery, and Post-Partum
Fort St. John also has the Health Unit and Primary Care Clinic which serve the community.
