Child and Family Services of Western Manitoba is seeking an energetic Early Childhood Educator II (ECE II) or Child Care Assistant (CCA) to join our Victoria Day Care Centre staffing team. This is a full-time term position to commence at the beginning of December 2024 and conclude Friday, June 19, 2026 (approximately an 18-month term). This term position is to cover a maternity leave of absence; as a result, it may expire sooner than mid-June 2026, subject to a minimum two-week notice period. The successful candidate will work 35-hours per week, Monday to Friday; this position is subject to a six-month probationary period. Applicants must have the ability to demonstrate good communication skills, patience, passion, and have experience working with young children. The successful candidate will be encouraged to obtain a Manitoba Class 4 driver's license, as staff transport children in a Transit Van for field trips at times throughout the summer months. Upon successful completion of a Manitoba Class 4 license, the Agency will reimburse for all reasonably related costs incurred. The Victoria Day Care Centre is a licensed facility through Manitoba Early Learning and Child Care. Should the successful applicant be a CCA who has not yet completed an approved 40-hour course, completing an approved course within the first year of employment is a condition of employment. Qualifications :
Early Childhood Educator II two-year diploma or experience with young children;
Applicants without an ECE II diploma or a completed 40-hour course must be willing to complete an approved 40-hour course as per Manitoba Early Learning & Child Care regulations within the first year of employment;
Valid First Aid and CPR certification;
Ability to work as a team member and possess effective communication skills;
Additional Information :
Successful completion of a Child Abuse Registry Check, Criminal Records Check (including vulnerable sector), Prior Contact Check, and a Driver's Abstract Check is required. The successful candidate will be responsible for any services charges incurred for the Criminal Record Check; the Agency will pay for the other three security checks.
