Job Mandate
Reporting to the HEAD of IT Operations, the Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design, documentation, and implementation of various systems and processes to support both our internal and external business. These systems will be a combination of on-premises and cloud. As a part of the technical team, this role will participate in business initiatives and projects related to all aspects of our infrastructure and application technology stack within the HTS group of companies. This includes network, storage, servers, virtualization, cloud (Azure/AWS) and any internally developed or vendor supplied applications. Further, there will be several opportunities for custom integrations that can only be achieved via scripting and small-scale software development efforts.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to all areas of Kore Solutions.
Continue to be a student of technology by keeping abreast of all new technology trends and how to apply them within Kore and the HTS Group of companies.
Review of new systems and platforms for suitability for use with the HTS Group of companies.
Solve complex problems and make sound recommendations on the best solution based on expertise and good judgement.
Serve as a knowledge expert in areas of focus from an IT product perspective.
Be visionary relative to the architecture of the business working in concert with the HEAD of IT Operations and the architecture team.
Understand and communicate technical and architectural complexities of a technical solution so that business stakeholders can easily understand.
Sound leadership qualities as you will work within a small but growing team with diverse requirements and accountabilities.
Ability to influence without authority. Always look for a win/win scenario in everything you do.
Above average ability to troubleshoot issues when they arise. This can be technology or a business process.

Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Reliable access to personal transportation is a requirement.
Must be willing to travel within Canada and the United States and have a valid passport.
Participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
Minimum Required Technical Skills / Qualifications
Knowledge, Education, Training
University or college degree in a related discipline (Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent technical training or business experience.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the workforce performing similar activities.
Technical Skills
Strong working knowledge of several infrastructure-based technologies, including storage, networking, and servers.
Strong working knowledge of common operating systems, including Windows Server, Redhat & Debian Linux.
Strong working knowledge of network management and design, including hardware from Fortinet, Cisco.
Strong working knowledge of infrastructure automation and management using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Bicep.
Strong working knowledge of the ELK stack, and the supplementary beats tools.
Strong knowledge of datacenter processes and a high degree of comfort working, building, and modifying infrastructure.
General knowledge of cloud technology with an emphasis on Azure.
General knowledge of programming principles and comfort with using common scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and the *nix shell - (bash/csh/zsh).
General Skills
Unparalleled ability to communicate in multiple mediums.
Unparalleled ability to plan and document.
Strong analytical skills to perform technical problem analysis, determination, and resolution skills (min. 3 years).
Works well independently under pressure and time constraints and can prioritize workload.
General understanding of Project and Software Development Life Cycle methodologies.
General understanding of system integration approaches and requirements.

CompTIA A+
Fortinet NSE 4-8
CompTIA Security +
VMware Certified Technical Associate
Core Technology
General knowledge of the following is strongly preferred:
Virtualization: VMWare, KVM.
Database: SQL Server, MySQL.
Network: Fortinet/Cisco.
