Purpose of the Job
The role of the Electro & Mechanical (E&M) Interface Engineer will be to define and manage project interfaces between Subsystems either internally or externally.
Responsibilities
Review the different design packages in liaison with E&M subsystems.
Identify the System Interfaces and create an interface register.
Develop the Interface Control Documents (ICD), propose the Leader of the interface, and liaise with Subsystems to ensure the production and agreement of the ICD.
Ensure interface consistency and completeness by reviewing designs and actively participating in the requirements management process.
Manage the detailed interfaces definition relevant to 3rd Parties.
Identify risks, scope gaps, and grey areas and escalate as needed.
Educational Requirements
University Degree in Engineering.
Preferred to be Licensed with Professional Engineers of Ontario (P.Eng.) or in progress.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Interface Engineering.
Field experience and a good knowledge of railway systems.
Knowledge of the rail construction environment and engineering practices.
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and ability to learn new techniques in a changing environment are desired.
