Please note that this is a hybrid position. A project to reflect your expertise. Responsible for application analysis, design and development across multiple client server or web-based platforms.
Work closely with business units to review business requirements and feasibility from the technical perspective and to finalize requirements.
Develop and maintain database scripts.
Develop applications in Scala (mostly Spark Applications), Java, Angular and Cassandra.
Work on moving existing Analytics platform (on-premises infrastructure) to Microsoft Azure Cloud.
Perform code review written by junior/intermediate developers.
Perform unit testing.
Comply with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.
Take part in construction of the requirements, design, testing and deployment documents.
Ensure consistency in coding standards.
Ensure required documentation is housed in the project repository and that knowledge transfer has occurred to full time staff upon completion of contract term.
MUST HAVE: Degree/Certifications Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Years of experience: 10+ years.
Databricks experience (Databricks Lakehouse platform is a plus) – especially running Spark.
Experience with the following tools: Java, Spark, Scala, Spring, SQL Server, Git, React.
Experience with Cloud computing (one of: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) applications (batch processing) using Scala or Java.
Experience with Big Data technologies (HDFS, Spark, Cassandra).
NICE TO HAVE: Cloud migration experience.
Angular.
Spring Boot.
Language skills: English: Proficient.
