Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
Deliver code development, unit testing, UAT support, implementation, and operational support.
Interact with business clients to help resolve and explain system questions and issues.

Be a self-starter with a desire to learn and contribute.
Have an appetite to continuously evolve and improve, tackle difficult problems, and seek/give constant feedback.
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

Work closely with all team members in an agile lab and agile environment.
Work standard and additional overtime hours to meet project deadlines and pager support.
Be fluent in English, oral and written, with excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to understand, document, and share key system information with colleagues, support groups, technical staff, business partners, and management.
Embrace change and see it as an essential driver to solve complex issues.
Demonstrate flexibility and can move forward without having all the answers.
Consistently seek to understand, meet, and deliver on customers’ expectations.
Act as a mentor to junior developers on design, development, delivery, operations, and overall development best practices within the bank and industry.
Be on rotation with other team members for Stand-by/On call (24x7) application support.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
7+ years of experience in Web and Cloud technologies (preferred Microsoft Azure).
At least 5 years of hands-on experience with development in the needed language or technology listed below.
Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and successful deployment of large-scale projects from end-to-end.
Hands-on experience in following the iterative and agile SDLC.
1-2 years of prior experience in level 1 production support.
Experience working in an agile environment/methodology is an asset.
Fluency in English, oral and written.
Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or technical equivalent.
Source code repository experience with Bitbucket, Git, SourceTree, Clearcase.
J2EE technologies experience with Java, Web Services (SOAP, REST), JDBC, JSP, JSF, Servlets, EJB, JNDI, JMS.
IDE tools experience with Eclipse, IntelliJ, IBM RAD, WebLogic Workbench, STS (SpringToolSuite), etc.
Database experience with DB2, SQL, Azure SQL, Redis Cache, MySQL.
