As a profitable and rapidly growing business backed by tier one venture capital investors, we are seeking to scale our high performing team.
As the Head of People at Hiive, you will be a foundational member of our operations team and the leader of our people and culture organization. You will be on the front lines of scaling a world-class, high-performing team and equipping them with the tools they need to thrive at work. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead a team, develop compensation and talent development strategies, be a key ambassador for Hiive’s culture and values, and serve as an important advisor for our senior leadership team.
This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious, growth-oriented people leader.
In this role, your responsibilities would include:
Building and leading the P&C organization; managing and mentoring P&C team members.
Serving as Hiive’s employee relations expert, and developing policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
Developing and maintaining industry-leading performance management, engagement and feedback systems.
Leading the company’s compensation and benefits strategy, with the goal of attracting, rewarding and retaining top talent.
Leading the company’s recruiting and talent development strategy.
Driving and overseeing employee experience initiatives, continuous learning, and leadership development.
Serving as a trusted advisor and partner to Hiive’s Leadership team on all employee relations and engagement matters.
Serving as a key ambassador and communicator of the Hiive’s culture, mission and values.
Working with the marketing team on employer branding and events.
Using data to optimize and enhance P&C decisions and processes, including with respect to hiring, talent development and retention.
Required Skills:
You have 6+ years of experience in HR/People & Culture, with at least 2 of those in a leadership or managerial role.
You have knowledge and experience in recruiting, employer branding, talent development, performance management, compensation planning and total rewards, employee engagement, and HR compliance.
You have a proven track record of taking a collaborative, growth-oriented, and data-driven approach to solving people-related problems.
You have the maturity and confidence to serve as an advisor to senior executives, and to advocate for a position that you feel strongly about.
You are an exceptional people person with proven leadership skills, who can motivate and inspire teams to achieve peak performance.
You have a bachelors or masters degree in business administration, human resources or a related field.
Preferred Skills:
Ideally, you have some experience working in a quickly growing start-up company. Experience in venture capital, financial services, capital markets or enterprise B2B is also an asset, but not required.
Hiive is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where all individuals have an opportunity to succeed.
