Position Overview We are looking for an Android Engineer to support our live-streaming squad at Plenty Of Fish. Here, you will have the opportunity to build and maintain features that are used by millions of users daily. Live Streaming is one of our top product offerings with high visibility across the organization. We have a team of passionate and focused engineers who work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment and are looking for someone to contribute to this!
Responsibilities Work with a passionate team of engineers to create apps that encourage social interactions and help form real relationships
Architect, build and iterate on major components and new product features for Plenty of Fish apps
Work in a fast-paced highly collaborative cross-functional environment and share your expertise to help solve complex problems at a large scale
Proactively identify areas for improvement, diagnose issues and collaborate with other team members to resolve them
Partner closely with design and product teams to continuously improve our applications
Work in a data-driven environment implementing AB tests and working with analytical application data
Actively contribute to the codebases powering one of the top social applications on Google Play
Work with Modern Android Architecture: Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow
Qualifications 4+ years of development experience on Android with In-depth experience in building and shipping complex Android applications using Kotlin & Java
Experience building and shipping mobile applications using React Native
A strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, multithreading, and networking
Knowledge of debugging, profiling and optimizing Android Apps for performance
Ability to write clean, maintainable and testable code whilst maintaining high standards of code quality
Experience in building apps consuming REST APIs
The ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
