Responsibilities:
The Tool Technician/Mold Setter will need to perform both scheduled and unscheduled tooling changes on machines within each facility. This position will need to conduct any minor repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure machines and tools are running smoothly and efficiently with minimum downtime. Additionally, this position collaborates with the maintenance and production departments regarding any tooling issues or changes that need to be made. Additional responsibilities include:
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled tooling changes as well as tracking and up-keep of all tooling;
- Clean entire tooling assemble and components;
- Perform minor repairs and other light industrial maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks as required;
- Assist maintenance and production personnel when required, regarding tooling issues;
- Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams;
- Must follow precise instructions and directions;
- Knowledge of the safe use and care of tools;
- Knowledge and use of lockout / tagout procedures;
- Practice good housekeeping; and
- Obey all safety rules, regulations, and policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Vocational school in related subjects desired; demonstrated mechanical ability; six months or more related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Good handgrip strength is required.
- Good hand-eye coordination is essential.
- Frequently required to climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Work near moving mechanical part, and occasionally in outside weather conditions.
- Exposed to high room temperatures and humidity.
- Exposed to and/or inhale fumes and/or airborne particles from cleaning fluids, mineral oil, synthetic gear oils, paint and Isopropyl Alcohol.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Exposed to machine parts operating at extremely high temperatures.
