Job Description
The O.R. Material Stockperson under the direction of his/her immediate supervisor, with latitude for independent or un-reviewed action or decision, tracking of materials and supplies in the operating room and manage orders to promote positive productive in the Perioperative Services Department.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with perioperative services leadership and surgical team.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem - solving skills to recognize issues and escalate to leadership if and when necessary
  • Ability to use inventory computer programs to collect data to update counts on supplies and compile reports, such as spreadsheet.
  • Ordering inventory from vendors and suppliers and securing shipment arrival times.
  • Managing inventory by stocking and cataloging products for Perioperative Services.
  • Performing quality checks on stored inventory and discarding inventory that has expired.
  • Updating inventory count and maintaining inventory records to share with management and other team member (i.e. surgeons, anesthesiologists)
  • Maintaining par levels and reporting discrepancies in inventory (i.e. low par levels) at last count.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with shippers and vendors.
  • Obtaining estimates and price details from different vendors to compare costs
  • Assess vendor operations and enforce compliance with quality standards
  • Work with the procurement, vendors/shippers, and perioperative team to ensure timely and safe patient care.
  • Receives, stores, and distributes and cares for materials, and supplies by packing, unpacking, and counting materials and supplies for accuracy.
  • Loads and unloads at the supply rooms and at point of pick - up, delivery or distribution.
  • Checks materials received against invoices and notes breakage and discrepancies in quantity.
  • Picks supplies from shelves to fill requests and transport supplies to operating room.
  • Keeps supplies and materials storage area clean and orderly.
  • Seeks clarification when necessary
  • Works harmoniously with a culturally diversified staff.
  • Meets all compliance standards/requirements such as Annual Physical Evaluation, Multi-Star Training and Customer Service Training.
  • Enhances personal and clinical development through the attendance of internal in-service training, as well as external educational offerings.
  • Demonstrates a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Maintain and update allograft log book and FDA licensor per HHC policy and regulations.
  • Review and update FDA validations for allograft licenses and inventory.
  • Attend all scheduled meeting (i.e. am and noon huddles, and OR materials) with perioperative and surgical team.
  • Assist with charge caption when necessary.
