Purpose:
The Inventory Specialist performs functions that are crucial to the process as outlined in the plant. They are responsible for correcting inventory levels and maintaining inventory accuracy by working with other team members. They have an understanding of how inventory flows through the process both physically and in the JDE system as well as the financial impacts.

Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
- Resin stock management - including coordinating with Corp Buyer and Vendor Portal.
- Perform Weekly cycle counts of Resin and Packaging
- Perform inventory transfers, reclass, and adjustments as approved by Plant Controller
- Monitor inventory levels in Point of Use (POUs) and transfer locations (99, WH Cycle)
- Set up, maintain, or disable inventory locations as needed
- Train other team members how to perform inventory related transactions including but not limited to Work Order Completions, Transfers, Lot Creations, Cycle Counts, etc.
- Cycle count as needed for high runner items/communicate with WH supervisor
- Coordinate the cycle count of all warehouse locations at least 1x per Quarter
Inventory Analysis
- Run a variety of system reports at defined intervals
- Perform inventory investigation and analysis using JDE Cardex, NetQuery, Cognos
- Report trends and problems to management
- Devise action plan to adress recurring problems
- Monitor and review Aged Inventory
Warehouse Housekeeping and Safety (applicable to all Warehouse personnel)
- Ensure Warehouse is kept clean and clear of safety issues on a daily basis.
- Sweeps and mops floors.
- Ensures all pathways are kept clear.
- Perform daily pre-use check on powered industrial equipment.
- Report any unsafe condition or near miss in the Warehouse
- Reporting loss, damage and any such discrepancies to the supervising authorities.
- Operate a manual pallet jack.
Act as a backup for Data Processing and Scheduling
Supports and maintains all policies of the company including but not limited to ISO/BRC Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and standard work procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma Preferred
- English Fluent
- Spanish Preferred
- Job Experience in Similar Job 1-2 years
- Basic math and computer skills, preferable SAP or JDE experience (performing inventory transactions in the system)
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Experience operating material handling equipment, such as forklift (sitdown and stand-up), pallet jack, and cardboard baler.
- Manufacturing and Warehouse environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
