Job Description

A career as an associate director in the Governance and Treasury team at National Bank Financial Markets means acting as a specialist in business and operational governance. It is through your analytical mind, your work organization, your judgment, your experience in data analysis and in the application of the regulatory framework applicable to the financial markets that you have a positive impact on the profitability and risk management of the sector.

Your job

  • Develop and document all treasury activities
  • Ensuring the identification of guiding principles, standards and obligations and establishing mechanisms to monitor compliance with these principles, standards and obligations
  • Influence the Treasury teams and act as a consultant in the governance and application of the governance and risk management framework
  • Liaise between the guidelines and standards issued by our securities regulators (OSFI, AMF) and ensure the implementation, operationalization and monitoring of these guidelines and standards within the Treasury trading teams
  • Establish and develop the framework for regulatory and governance knowledge, which means developing a structured set of policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with regulations and promote good governance, as well as the development of a community for strengthening practices
  • Liaise with our various internal and external business partners

Your team

You will be part of a team of five colleagues reporting to the Managing Director and Head of Governance, Treasury and Pension Fund. Our team stands out for its cross-functional role with Treasury financing and investment trading teams, the quality of its deliveries and its development of specialized expertise while working in a collaborative and enriching work environment. We make sure rigorous processes are in place to effectively mitigate operational, reputational and money laundering risks and check that Treasury and Pension Fund activities are consistent and ethically managed.

Prerequisites

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 to 8 years of relevant work experience or master's degree and 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Analytical and synthesis skills and a strong desire to learn and evolve in a complex field
  • Experience in risk management or regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to ensure effective coordination and partnership in multi-stakeholder mandates
  • Demonstrated strong influencing, communication and writing skills
  • Good knowledge of bank regulations (OSFI)
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
