Facility: Serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who need medical, habilitative or behavioral supports beyond what s available to them in the community.
Opportunity: - Work involves direct delivery of clinical practices and monitoring of medical services, participating in treatment team process, advocate for the medical needs of persons service, and working with the individual's families, Family Nurse Practitioners, and with consultants and community medical providers in other medical specialty areas.
- Report directly to the Administrative Medical Director of the State Supported Living Center and works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
- Consulting with patients to understand their symptoms and health concerns.
- Diagnosing and treating acute illnesses, such as bacterial and viral infections, as well as chronic disease and conditions, such as hypertension, heart disease, or diabetes.
- Prescribe and administering medication, therapy, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
- Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
- Compliance with HHSC and facility documentation timeframe requirements.
- Provides and monitors facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet standards for compliance with accrediting agencies
Compensation: Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
