Role Overview As a Behavior Technician, you will support classroom teachers by working with special education students, primarily those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), in self-contained classrooms. This role is mainly with elementary-age students, however some placements may also include middle & high school-age students. You willl play a crucial part in enhancing their academic and behavioral experiences. Common behaviors include aggression, self-injurious actions, noncompliance, elopement, repetitive behaviors, and sensory sensitivities. Support strategies involve implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), Positive Behavior Support (PBS), visual aids, communication supports, structured environments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
