Position Summary: The housekeeper has the responsibility to maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the designated assigned areas in which he/she is assigned Key Responsibilities: Dusts, washes and polishes furniture (beds, dressers, nightstands, chairs, tables, etc.). Dry mops and wet mops floors Washes and spot cleans walls as required (painted, ceramic and wall covered walls). Washes windows and mirrors Maintains the areas assigned and other areas as needed (such as cleaning up spills, picking up paper, wiping marks/finger prints/other items). Follows schedules, policies and procedures as required. Vacuums carpets and spot cleans as required. Maintains a clean and sanitary atmosphere for all the residents who live in the facilities of Providence Point (resident rooms, public areas, bathrooms, bathing areas, lounges, dining areas, medical areas). Maintains a clean and sanitary atmosphere for all the staff who work in the facilities of Providence Point (offices, lounges, public areas, etc.) Completes routine day to day assignments so not to inconvenience the resident, staff and others. Completes services at the time required and in the time frames allotted Cross trains to be laundry worker if the need arises to fill position Qualifications: Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, service manuals, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence, work orders, and maintaining records. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to residents or management. Must have listening skills to interpret concerns and follow directions. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
