The 100% Online Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program enables students to become license-eligible for the counseling profession in many states throughout the program. The program’s primary goal is to prepare students to function independently and successfully as a clinical mental health counselor in a variety of professional settings. An overview of the program can be found here:https://www.lockhaven.edu/cmhc/Based on the specific needs of the department at the time of appointment, a successful applicant must be qualified to teach graduate level courses and/or supervise students in field or internship experiences. An overview of the courses can be found here:https://www.lockhaven.edu/cmhc/tab-2DutiesCandidates will be expected to plan and deliver instruction through multiple modes of instruction including: asynchronous (e.g., Brightspace) and synchronous (e.g., Zoom). In addition to teaching classes, temporary faculty are expected to hold office hours, engage with departmental faculty, attend program and department meetings, complete scholarly activities related to the position, and engage in service activities (e.g., interviewing graduate student applicants). The location for these temporary positions varies with the expectation of serving a multi-campus University within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.Qualifying Experience and Education (Minimum/Preferred)MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCandidate must have experience teaching a minimum of 5 graduate level courses independently through distance education particularly experience with using virtual synchronous classrooms.Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at the time of hire.Candidate must have a master’s degree in counseling and be a Licensed Professional Counselor or a Licensed Mental Health Counselor prior to the start date.The successful candidate must be able to communicate well in an interview and/or teaching demonstration.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSCandidates with any of the following certifications are preferred: Approved Clinical Supervisor, Board Certified Telemental Health, and/or National Certified Addiction Counselor or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.Other preferred qualifications include recent scholarly activity and service to the clinical mental health profession and community.Special Instructions to ApplicantsA complete application includes cover letter, resume/CV, unofficial transcripts, contact information for three professional references.
