Mechanical Supervisor Responsibilities Supervision and Leadership: Lead a team of mechanical technicians and oversee their daily activities to ensure efficient and safe operations. Maintenance and Repair: Coordinate and execute mechanical maintenance and repair activities on various maritime vessels, including propulsion systems, engines, pumps, and auxiliary equipment Quality Assurance: Ensure all mechanical work meets industry standards, specifications, and client requirements. Safety and Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Training and Development: Train new technicians and provide ongoing guidance and mentorship to improve team performance and skill levels. Inventory and Resource Management: Manage inventory levels of spare parts and equipment. Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of required materials. Mechanical Supervisor Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education. 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, preferably in the maritime industry. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including diesel engines, pumps, hydraulics, and HVAC systems. Familiarity with ship repair processes is highly advantageous. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues effectively and efficiently.
