The three-story, 73,000-square-foot facility features a Joint Commission accredited ambulatory surgery center and provides access to more than 20 specialties, outpatient surgery, endoscopy, and advanced imaging services.The Endoscopy department offers upper gastrointestinal endoscopy for esophageal, stomach and duodenal disorders, wireless capsule endoscopy and balloon-assisted enteroscopy for intestinal disorders, colonoscopy for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for colonic disease, and ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound for pancreatic and biliary disorders. This is a highly experienced team of caregivers that collaborate on various endoscopy procedures to achieve excellent medical outcomes for patients.A caregiver in this position works7:00am"5:00pm or 7:00am"4:30pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will:Assist nurses and physicians in all aspects of GI procedures. This includes assistance with the stocking of all rooms with equipment and supplies and maintaining proper procedures for the cleaning and storage of endoscopes.Change chemical sterilant and cleans scope washer according to policy.Assess endoscopes daily and report any damage to the director.Prepare and send out scopes for repair after notifying director.Assist in the orientation of new personnel to all in room procedures and to the process for cleaning and disinfection of scopes.Perform clerical duties if needed in the absence of the scheduler.Transport specimens according to policy using universal precautions.Make pre-op calls to patients to obtain preliminary information.Identify opportunities for cost savings and make full use of existing resources.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:High school diploma or GED.
