The Blueprint
Join our growing enterprise IT Security team as a Cybersecurity Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in fortifying our cybersecurity framework. With a focus on both cloud and on-premises environments, this position is ideal for someone with a robust background in Microsoft security technologies and a proactive approach to cybersecurity challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Active Directory, Azure Entra ID, and GPOs: Manage Active Directory configurations and Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for both cloud and on-premises environments to secure user access and computer configurations.
In-depth understanding and experience with cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, hybrid) and cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices.
Implement cybersecurity processes and procedures essential for safeguarding the organization's digital assets and sensitive information.
Azure and Microsoft Security: Implement and manage security measures including Data Loss Prevention (DLP) in Azure, ensuring comprehensive protection across all platforms.
Conditional Access Policies: Develop and enforce conditional access policies that provide secure and flexible access to network resources.
Cybersecurity project implementation such as Configure Office 365 Security, Exchange Online Protection (EOP), Microsoft Defender enhancements, Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), and compliance.
SSO, RBAC, and ABAC Implementation: Deploy Single Sign-On (SSO), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) systems to enhance identity and access management.
Intune Baseline Policies: Utilize Microsoft Intune to establish and enforce baseline security policies for device and application management.
Vulnerability Management: Identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities in both on-prem and cloud environments, enhancing the security posture of the organization.
Patch Management: Proactively manage and apply patches to identified vulnerabilities, minimizing potential exposure to cyber threats.
Asset Risk Management: Maintain the risk register by identifying asset owners, assessments, process mapping, and applying mitigation plans for associated risks.
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery: Participate in the development and regular testing of disaster recovery plans to ensure the organization can quickly resume operations after a security incident.
Risk Management: Proactively manage, track, and remediate enterprise risks associated with cybersecurity threats. Employ advanced analytical tools and methodologies to forecast potential vulnerabilities.
Security Escalations: Coordinate with third-party vendors and other internal teams for resolution of security incidents, vulnerabilities, or concerns.
Communication: Maintain consistent communication with the operations team to allow for beneficial teamwork.
Smart Building – Work alongside stakeholders to resolve security audit findings and provide feedback on recommendations.
Remain up to date on the latest information technology trends and security standards.
Develop reports on the effectiveness of implemented controls/safeguards and residual risks.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within IT Support teams.
The Architect of Your Success
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, particularly with a focus on Microsoft environments and cloud security.
Experienced in managing Azure security tools, Active Directory, GPO, and NIST or ISO frameworks.
Relevant certifications such as MCSE, Security+, CISSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex security projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in explaining complex security issues to non-technical stakeholders.
