Job Title: Registered Nurse - First Assist (RNFA)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) to join our Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team. This role involves supporting complex cardiac surgical procedures and assisting surgeons directly in the OR. This is a full-time, weekday position with additional on-call rotation responsibilities for nights, weekends, and holidays.
Schedule Details:
Workdays: Monday through Friday, 10-hour shifts (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM), with one varying day off.
On-Call: Rotating night, weekend, and holiday call shifts divided evenly among RNFAs.
Typical on-call is 1-2 weekdays (Mon-Thurs) and 1-2 weekends (Fri-Sun) per six-week schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in 4-6 open heart surgeries daily, including but not limited to:
Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
Aortic and Mitral Valve Replacements (AVR, MVR)
Minimally invasive mitral procedures
Ascending Aorta surgeries, Myxomas, and Impella insertions
Support up to two surgeries per day as First Assist, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
Qualifications:
Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia.
Certification: Completion of an accredited RNFA program.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent CVOR experience as a Registered Nurse First Assist.
Holiday Expectations:
Availability to work two major holidays from:
Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day
Availability to work one minor holiday from:
The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve
