Tact Staff is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Augusta, Georgia.

General job duties. Types of procedures required.

The registered nurse monitors, examines, and evaluates the patient’s condition. Assists with the care plan and takes appropriate actions to promote the patient’s short/long-term outcomes and wellbeing. Delivers care plan as outlined, applying independent judgment where appropriate. Participates in data collection, poses relevant clinical questions to advanced evidence based practice. Collaborates with and communicates patient care plans with other staff, as appropriate. Prioritizes and coordinates optimum daily patient flow and patient experience. Delivers safe and effective care according to policies and procedures. Maintains appropriate documentation of patient assessment, changes in condition, care delivered, education provided, and any incidents or exceptions related to standards of care or compliance with hospital policy.Maintains competency for appropriate level of patient care.

2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)

EPIC computer charting with medication scanning, Omnicell medication dispenser, Phillips monitoring and EKGs, Ventilators, iStats, Accu-check glucometer, waived testing, chest tubes, drains, and restraints.

3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.

At least two years of Critical Care experience

4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)

RN licensure for the State of Georgia or multi-state compact license. Certifications: BLS, ACLS

5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)

Four(4) 0 (AM) and Six (6) 1 (PM) Every other weekend

6. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)

This staff will be expected to float to all of our ICU units including (CVICU, Neuro, SICU, STU, MICU)

7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.

8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) Contingent on Patient type- 1:2-3 or 1:1

9. Dress Code:

Navy Blue scrubs

10. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.

Completion of a three day preceptor based orientation to the ICUs. Orientation competency checklist will be completed. Adheres to all WMCG policies and procedures. Has an understanding of basic expectations for covering ICUs, including being pulled to any of the aforementioned departments. Is able to multi-task and understands that they will be caring for ICU patients as well as patients awaiting transfer to Intermediate or Acute levels of care.
