Optum Shoreline, part of Optum, has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.
The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for general clinic office functions that support efficient and effective patient care including patient registration, insurance verification, collection of applicable co-insurance and/or co-payments and scheduling of diagnostic and follow-up appointments and answering phones.
Schedule: Wednesday (8am-7pm), Thursday (7am-7pm), Friday (7am-7pm), Saturday (8am-12:30pm)
Location: 1201 N 175th Street, Shoreline, WA 98133. May be required to support other sites, as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Greet customers into the practice and provide instruction and/or direction as necessary both on the phone and in person
- Schedule and coordinate all patient appointments as directed
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, free of clutter
- Prepare all documentation and records with accuracy as directed or necessary for the patient’s care
- Meet or exceed the performance measures established by the Practice Management Dept.
- Order and maintain the inventory, and stock in the area according to the policies and procedures established by the Practice Management Dept. and Central Supply
- Follow establish policy and procedures related to the position
- Participate and contribute in a team-based environment
- Maintain a team supportive attendance record
- Understand and deliver quality customer service that is consistent with the Polyclinic’s efforts in becoming a High-Performance Organization
- Follow OSHA/WISHA (including usage of PPE) guidelines
- Follow HIPAA regulations
- Adapt and perform effectively in a continuously changing environment, and in occasional difficult situations

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 1+ years of customer service experience with strong communication skills both in person and via phone
- 6+ months of experience working in a medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
- 6+ months of EPIC experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of Microsoft Office experience
- 1+ years of experience working in a medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
- Experience working in the healthcare industry
- Knowledge of medications and medical terminology

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines

Washington Residents Only: The hourly range for Washington residents is $16.54 to $32.55 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
