Responsibilities: • Operate and drive vehicles with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of over 33,000 pounds • Load and unload freight using appropriate handling equipment • Ensure load contents are securely packed and organized • Perform routine vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance • Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs using both electronic and paper logbooks • Retain fuel/toll receipts • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules • Adhere to truck driving rules and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions • Collect and verify delivery instructions • Report any defects, accidents, or violations • Handle customer items with care and respect • Communicate effectively with other crew members, clients, and move coordinators • Be reliable, punctual, and available for flexible work schedules • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.) • Able to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Qualifications: • Proven work experience as a truck driver • Experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.) • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly • Willingness to work variable hours, which may include weekends, holidays, and overtime • Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations • Valid Class A driving license • Ability to lift heavy items and physically capable of walking up and down several flights of stairs • Experience with an electric lift, hand truck, and pallet jack is preferred • Complete a background check, DOT drug screening, and MVR check Compensation: $27 - $35 hourly
