Position Summary: The CDL Driver will be responsible for driving and operating commercial vehicles to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and a dedication to providing top-notch customer service.
Key Roles / Responsibilities: - Inspect daily vehicle components, including winch cable, frame, and securing devices.
- Load and unload equipment using the vehicle's mechanical winch.
- Maintain a log of travel and goods in accordance with Federal and State regulations and company policy.
- Adhere to all DOT procedures and company operating procedures to maximize safety.
- Apply knowledge of moving equipment such as rig components.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
- Provide excellent customer service during delivery and pick-up operations.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications: - Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with a CDL license.
- Experience with winch trucks and hauling equipment.
- Knowledge of load securing devices (straps, ratchet boomers, chains, and binders).
- Ability to haul oversized equipment and operate heavy machinery.
- Over The Road (OTR) driver experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Hazmat endorsement preferred.
- Willingness to stay out of town as required.
Working Conditions: - Prolonged periods sitting in a truck cab for long periods of time.
- Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.
- Long-term physical fitness to maintain all licenses and certifications as required by regulatory agencies (DMV, FAA, DOT, etc.).
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to determine the distance between objects and react quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
- Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
- Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
