Career Opportunity:nnResponsible for safely transporting raw materials and finished good from customer locations to plant, or from plant to paper mill. Required to comply with all DOT regulations. Required to perform inspections on trucks and trailers and maintain accurate paperwork. Assist in loading and unloading of truck or trailer. This document is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties, but a general summary; other duties may be assigned.nnHow you will impact WestRock:nnCompliance with WestRock safety rules.nnCompliance with DOT regulations.nnFully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle.nnPerform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your assigned vehicle and report any needed repairs to your supervisor.nnMaintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, check fluids, check tire pressures).nnEfficiently follow assigned daily pickup and drop off schedule.nnMaintain accurate and legible paperwork for daily pickups and drop offs to include customer/ mill, truck and/ or trailer numbers, tare weight, gross weight and grade being transported.nnEnsure contents are secure in or on the truck or trailer prior to transporting.nnObey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/ road conditions.nnAssist in the loading or unloading of your truck if required.nnPerform other job duties as needed.nnMake safety a priority at all times.nnWhat you need to succeed:nnHigh school diploma or G.E.D preferred.nnValid commercial driveru2019s license (CDL) required.nnClean driving record with no moving violations.nnMust pass a background check and drug screen.nnSkilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles and/ or trailers.nnMust have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, directions and routing assignments.nnMust have the ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack.nnFlatbed cargo securement may be required.nnMust be willing to work overtime as needed.nnMust be able to maintain good attendance.nnMust be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.nnSmurfit Westrock (NYSE:SW) is a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging solutions.
