For extra detail on pay, routes, and layover rates, we encourage you to visit (1) * Average weekly miles 2,000-3,000 Local/Regional work out and back home in 10-12 hours on 95% of trips. We are expanding into trips that are one day layovers into the North Carolina, Upstate NY and Connecticut Markets. * Average yearly pay is $98,000 average 2023. $100,000+ range for 2024. * $1,500 Referral, safety up to $400 per year.nnBenefits all start on Day 1: * Health, dental, vision, vacation, holidays, personal days * Life and disability * Paid onboarding/training * 401k plan and employer contributionnnEquip: Type & Amenities: * Volvo Automatic Tractors Single and Tandem; no sleepers. * Advanced Safety Features in newest units; new units every year.nnSchedule & Home Time: * 70/8 day log. Occasional holidays are worked. Work is minimized on New Years, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Days so time can be spent at home with family. * Home Time: Daily with 2 consecutive days off after 50 hours is obtained. * Dispatches run AM and PM. Work is awarded by the Seniority bid board. * Trips typically 400-600 mile drop and hook round trips to MD, VA, PA, NJ, DE, and NY suburbs. There are occasional layovers but only one day and we give a hotel card to stay in. * 98% of no-touch freight delivering to Frito Lay company Plants, Distribution Centers, or 3rd party manufacturing.nnOther Job details: * Perks include a fuel card, Sirius Radio. Start times vary by route and scheduled dispatch.nnWe asked current Frito-Lay drivers what frequent tasks you should expect when you come aboard, and here is what they had to say: * You will safely operate a tractor/trailer (usually an automatic Volvo, international or freight liner; diesel/natural gas) and transport products to and from specified destinations in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. * This is a physical job. We load and unload trailers -- this can be manual, it could involve palletized loading/unloading, or require the use of a two-wheeler. You will also be lifting things over your head. * You will transport chips, dips, and more to and from large grocery stores, Frito-Lay manufacturing facilities, rural storage units, and other traf ic centers. * You will obtain signature of receipt, pick up returns and complete logs and other paperwork related to deliveries, and review invoices and/or manifests. * You will use an electronic logging device such as a tablet or an onboard (dash) computer. * We have regular contact with our customers, sales drivers, and dispatch, so you can expect talk to people at various points throughout the day or night. * Like the rest of our drivers, you will be responsible for pre- and post-trip truck inspections. * Your work hours may be up to the legal limits allowed by the FMCSA and require overnight trips as well as weekend and/or holiday work. * We run routes 24/7 and DOT hours vary slightly by location.nnThis position requires a lot of walking and lifting over your head, but we believe the rewards are worth it, and our drivers agree.nnGiven our large salaries and phenomenal benefits, you might wonder what will give you an edge when you apply.
