JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
Regal Boats is seeking a motivated self-starter to join our team as a Truck Driver. Truck Drivers play a crucial role in the transportation of boats from the manufacturing plant to dealerships and other marine-related facilities. Their primary responsibility is to ensure safe and efficient delivery of cargo to various destinations. Candidates must be willing to drive out of state as part of their regular duties.
Compensation
  • $.59/Mi regular rate, $.74/Mi wide load + depending on experience
  • $17.50/Hour (for unloading, loading wait time, PTO)
  • $150/Day layover rate
Key Responsibilities

  • Safely load, transport, and unload Regal boats.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of the truck to ensure it is in good working condition, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and fluids.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, as we all as marine-industry specific rules and safety standards, such as securing cargo properly and obtaining necessary permits.
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo transported, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and any other relevant paperwork required by customers and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure the safety of cargo, the vehicle, and all personnel during transportation. Follow safety procedures for loading and unloading, and use personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain effective communication with dispatchers, marine facility personnel, and other team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries and provide updates on delivery status.
  • Interact with customers, clients, and stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner. Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to cargo delivery.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergencies, such as accidents or breakdowns, by following established protocol and procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements (e.g., Hazmat, tanker, etc.)
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a CDL truck driver, transportation of cargo related to the marine industry preferred
  • Knowledge of local and federal transportation regulations and safety standards
  • Good physical condition and the ability to lift, load, and secure cargo
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills for the truck
  • Familiarity with navigation tools and route optimization
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours and handle unexpected situations
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Work Environment
A significant portion of a truck driver’s work is spent on the road, driving to and from destinations. This can involve long hours behind the wheel and extended periods of time away from home. They may operate in a variety of environments and weather conditions.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend at the waist and knees and sit for extended periods of time. The employee is frequently required to load and unload cargo, which may involve lifting, securing, and inspecting items. Some cargo may be heavy or require special handling.
