JOB SUMMARY Works under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, the HVAC Tech operates and maintains the heating and ventilation system and associated equipment. This position repairs and maintains the refrigeration's systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Performs scheduled (PM) Maintenance on the HVAC and refrigeration's systems.
- Performs unscheduled/ corrective maintenance on the HVAC and refrigeration systems and other work as assigned.
- Submits purchase requisitions to maintain adequate repair parts and supplies.
- Performs related duties such as maintaining records, assisting others and ensures a clean and orderly work area.
- Makes equipment rounds to check equipment assigned for operation and safety.
- Stands duties as a Shift Engineer as per shift schedule.
- Complies with the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures
- Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
- Other duties as assigned. This list is non-exhaustive.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS - Education, Training, Experience:
- Education: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Licensure: None.
- Experience: Minimum of two year is HVAC/refrigeration and electrical troubleshooting experience related to controls.
- Certifications required: Must have EPA certification for refrigerant.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- The ability to maintain continuing education requirements and all certifications and licenses as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, CPI, CPR)
- Carpentry skills.
- Demonstrates professionalism and courteous etiquette.
- Demonstrates flexibility, positive interpersonal relations in fast paced work environment.
- Ability to calibrate equipment.
- Ability to work on and operate mechanical equipment.
- Must be able to communicate with interior/exterior customers as well as outside contractors and vendors.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and computer systems.
- Ability to design and create layouts.
- Able to read/ understand blueprints.
