Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Builds, installs, maintains, and repairs a variety of production and building equipment. This may include electrical controls, circuits, control panels, forklifts, cranes, company vehicles and other operations equipment in the plant.
  • Solve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various production and facility equipment
  • (Dis)assembling/installing new machines, condition monitoring sensors, equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns
  • Replaces parts by operating machine tools, welding (pending plant location) or brazier as needed.
  • Follows prescribed preventative maintenance schedule in oiling, greasing and calibration of machinery.
  • Collaborates with manager to develop tasks and fixtures which would improve facility processes.
  • Work with vendors coming on-site for scheduled repairs.
  • Double checks that safety devices are in working order on all machines and equipment.
  • Provide training for new technicians.
  • Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a high school diploma
  • 3+ years of experience or Technical Associates degree and 2 years experience
  • Read and understand shop orders and blueprints, safety rules, standard work instructions, electrical diagrams and schematics, test sheets, completion sheets and quality assurance sheets
  • Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Basic Microsoft office required
  • Ability to use hand tools in a safe and proper manner.
  • Ability to read and speak English a plus

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND REQUIRED TRAINING

The following certifications and training, if required, will be provided by the company:

  • Lock Out/Tag Out Training
  • JSA completion, Forklift Operations, PPE identification and usage, Crane Training, hazard awareness/identification, Lift table operations, Rigging safety
  • Understands SQDE Metrics, LDMS, Issue boards, 5S

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

To successfully perform the essential function of this position, employees must have the ability to:

  • Continuously lift/move 10 pounds; frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Continuously stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms above shoulder height; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk; and hear.
  • Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms at waist level and below the waist, and work in limited space.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is continuously exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places, fumes, or airborne particles and/or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
