Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.nnBASIC PURPOSEnnDrives truck, van, or automobile over established route to deliver and collect food, toys and supplies/inner-office mail to assist Sacramento County Social Services with Christmas efforts.nnESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESnnDrives DOT-regulated truck to pick up and deliver food, toys, supplies and inner-office mail to and from various Salvation Army facilities and community locations.nnKeeps accurate mileage records.nnLoads truck.nnCleans inside of truck.nnInspects vehicle regularly and reports necessary repairs to supervisor.nnProvides warehouse support in absence/presence of Family Services supervisor.nnProvides assistance to Family Services Supervisor with pick ups pertaining to Christmas programs.nnMaintains an organized and clean work environment.nnAdheres to agency’s policies and procedures.nnAttends trainings as required by The Salvation Army.nnActs as role model within and outside the agency.nnMaintains a positive respectful attitude.nnCommunicates regularly with supervisor about property issues.nnConsistently reports to work on time, prepared to perform duties of position.nnKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTSnnMust be a person of high integrity, beliefs, and lifestyle, and in agreement with The Salvation Army’s mission statementnnAbility to work independently and without daily immediate supervisionnnAbility to work in a team environment, and multi-task required duties.nnMust be prepared to encounter a variety of assignments and timelines.nnBe able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and information.nnMust possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have an open, welcoming and helpful presence and attitude with all people.nnAbility to learn modern office procedures and equipment.nnKnowledge of The Salvation Army practices, policies and organizational resources.nnMust be punctual, organized, reliable, honest and responsible .nnMust possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a DOT-regulated Salvation Army vehiclennMust be 21 years or older.nnAuthorize The Salvation Army to add name to the CA DMV Pull Notice ProgramnnComplete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.nnMust pass annual Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).nnPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSnnAbility to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basisnnAbility to grasp, push, and/or pull objectsnnAbility to reach overheadnnAbility to lift up to 50-70 lbs. for positions that require liftingnnAbility to process written, visual, and/or verbal informationnnQualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
