About the Position A USAL driver / car hauler is responsible for transporting vehicles between manufacturing facilities, shipping ports, rail yards, terminals, and dealerships. The driver / car hauler partners with our operations, safety, and administrative teams to ensure the safe, on-time, legally-compliant, and damage-free delivery of our customers' vehicles.

Minimum Requirements - At least 23 years of age
- Primary residence within 150 miles of the assigned terminal
- Valid Class A CDL with clean, safe driving record
- Valid DOT medical certificate
- At least one (1) year of OTR experience operating a Class 8 tractor and minimum 41' trailer
- High school diploma or GED; however, two (2) years of auto transport experience within the past five years will be accepted in lieu of educational requirement
- Clean pre-employment screening and drug test
- Successful interview and road test
- Ability to read and write English and legally able to work in the United States
- Transitioning veterans - Honorable discharge, minimum of three (3) years' experience in MOS 88M or 3531, and Military Skills Test Waiver
General / Physical Job Duties - Safely climb in/out of a tractor cab and on trailer
- Sit for extended periods of time
- Walk and stand for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery, including working outdoors in inclement weather
- Reach (including above head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel
- Operate a tractor-trailer in all types of weather, while safely transporting vehicles
- Plan travel routes and meet delivery schedules
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects, accidents, or violations
- Maintain courteous, professional behavior and a neat appearance
