Position Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic maintains the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the physical assets of the property. They also oversee the maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of various machines and equipment within the organization.
Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Study specifications, such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualize products to determine materials required and machines to be used for fabricating parts.
  • Take prompt action to address safety issues identified by the Safety Committee or other employees.
  • Act as a key team member/stakeholder for all capital machinery and equipment, overseeing their life cycle from specification to disposal.
  • Manage OsecoElfab's Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Autonomous Maintenance (AM) programs and provide training to manufacturing employees as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Production Supervisors to identify maintenance issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for maintenance work on Oseco property.
  • Ensure timely completion of facilities maintenance work orders, including groundskeeping, office areas, common areas, and storage areas.
  • Work with equipment vendors to troubleshoot issues and procure necessary parts.
  • Maintain historical records on maintenance items (work orders) for reference.
  • Assist in machinery layouts and floor space savings projects.
  • Manage the Energy Savings program and implement energy-efficient practices.
  • Communicate the status of maintenance activities at daily meetings.
  • Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and collaborate with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose and repair issues.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery parts.
  • Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Supervise and coordinate minor repairs and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
  • Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment, such as programmable controllers.
  • Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining electrical, plumbing, and other related systems of all OsecoElfab facilities.
  • Ability to perform various clean-up and maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Skill in updating inventories and managing supplies efficiently.
  • Expertise in inspecting, operating, and maintaining the heating, cooling, ventilation system, and boiler system.
  • Capability to understand complex written and oral instructions.
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Competency in operating heavy equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with all departments, management, line, and outside vendors.
Education and /or Experience
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or Technical school
  • Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
