What you will be doing
The 2nd Shift Assistant Maintenance Chief position will be based in Commerce, CA. The targeted hourly pay rate for this position is $39.16 per hour. Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Qualifications:
• 5+ years in a manufacturing/production environment within a related industry and overseeing machine service and repair.
• Strong technical knowledge in all plant systems: Liquid Transfer, Heat Transfer, Material Handling, Refrigeration, Hydraulics, Electrical Distribution, Electrical and Electronic Controls.
• Strong Electrical Control Troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to interface with HR and lead other mechanics following company rules and labor laws.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles/6S
Key Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
• Responsible for maintaining plant efficiencies and performance.
• Responds to calls quickly and professionally.
• Continually improves processes to reduce waste and improve efficiencies.
• Drives and motivates subordinates in 6S leadership.
• Drive with leading the day to day operations of the assigned shift.
• Drive with the execution of all preventative maintenance work orders or programs.
• Develop a work environment that strives on continuous improvement, promotes trust, strengthens team work and supports an environment that continuously promotes safety and quality.
• Assist with building strong teams.
• Adheres to Union Bargaining Agreements Guidelines.
