Eligible for overtime.nnSchedule: 10am-6pm Tuesday-Saturday (off Sunday & Monday).nnLocation: Eastchester neighborhood Bronx, NYnnJOB-RELATED DUTIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSnnThese duties are essential and specific to the successful implementation of this position.nnTransports customers to various locations specified on Transportation Request with Agency van.nnSchedules daily routes, prioritizing trips to HRA, Department of Labor, transfers to/from other shelters and housing appointments for customers.nnMaintains van in pristine condition, ensuring cleanliness inside and out.nnMonitors and schedules routine maintenance of van (inspections, oil changes, tire rotation, etc.)nnReviews transportation requests with respective Supervisor.nnMaintains accurate documentation of runs, logging mileage and destinations.nnAdheres to proper use of company resources (cell phones, office supplies, vehicles, etc.).nnMust be able to multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details. Does not fraternize with customers; maintains a professional boundary.nnDrives within posted speed limits and ensures that all passengers wear required safety belts.nnDoes not use cell phone or substances while driving.nnQualificationsnnWhat do I need to apply?nnEducation and Experience: High School diploma or GED required. 3+ years of experience as a Driver (especially in a social service setting) can override the education requirement.nnCertificates or Licenses: Valid NYS driver’s license and clean driving record.nnCommunication: Proficiency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.nnReasoning Ability: make judgment calls, perform proper notifications, and make appropriate decisions.nnOther Skills: Ability to relate to the underserved, homeless, and disabled populations.
