We offer comprehensive benefits packages to eligible employees, including competitive pay, medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, and additional performance incentives.nnPosition SummarynnThe Craft Superintendent plans, supervises, and coordinates track maintenance crews, inspection, maintenance, and repair activities.nnPay Range: $29 - $34/hournnPrimary/Essential Responsibilities and DutiesnnPlans, monitors, and coordinates construction/maintenance activities ensuring safe, cost effective, and high-quality performancennManages and implements inspection schedules, preventive maintenance and repair programs for track systems and equipment to ensure their safe and efficient operationnnAssists in the initiation and implementation of appropriate policies and procedures associated with track and structures maintenance and inspectionnnEvaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of track inspection and maintenance crews, including adherence to work plans and budgets, performance, quality, and safety, to ensure that project objectives are achievednnInvestigates and diagnoses track failures, difficult maintenance problems, and critical safety issues, and renders corrective actions in a timely mannernnRecommends improvement in work methods and techniques to correct maintenance deficienciesnnAssigns, directs, and supervises work performed by track workers in accordance with work plans and established prioritiesnnMakes recommendations regarding the establishment of policies and procedures for programs affecting safety and operational effectivenessnnEnforces company policy and local, state and federally mandated regulationsnnConducts safety audits and safety meetingsnnEnsures safe and economical use of labor, materials, and equipmentnnProvides technical support to track workersnnPrepares and presents verbal and written reports and recommendations to project team.nnTrains and supervises staffnnRequired Skills and QualificationsnnA minimum of 7 years to 10 of railroad of construction, management experience including a thorough knowledge of construction industry practice, methods, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities.nnKnowledge of Federal Track Safety Standards (FTSS) and Federal Roadway Worker Safety (FRWS) and must be qualified for Part 213.7 of FTSSnnKnowledge of the methods and procedures required to carry out large scale track construction and maintenance, structures maintenance, and to monitor system-wide inspectionsnnKnowledge of railroad rules, regulations, and procedures and regulatory agency guidelinesnnAbility to diagnose and correct difficult construction, maintenance, and safety problemsnnAbility to evaluate and recommend new procedures to upgrade and refine existing programsnnExperience supervising staff and the ability to clearly communicate instructions to staffnnStrong verbal and written communication skillsnnProficiency with Microsoft Office suitennPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsnnWorks outdoors at job sitesnnWorks around moving machines, vehicles, and equipmentnnFrequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, stoops, and crouches while negotiating work areas under constructionnnMay lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing up to 50 poundsnnMay climb poles, ladders, and large structuresnnOccasionally works at heights of 20 feet or more above the groundnnMay occasionally work in confined spacesnnExposed to harsh weather conditions including extremely hot and extremely cold weathernnExposed to loud noisennThis job description is not intended to represent a complete, comprehensive list of all duties and responsibilities that may be required in this position.
