Job Description
Position Purpose: The APU Maintenance Leader is responsible for managing and leading a technical maintenance crew and ensuring manufacturing equipment is in good working order and kept within specifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ability to manage and lead a technical maintenance hourly crew.
  • Direct supervision of department personnel including interviewing, hiring, performance review, discipline, skill assessments, and recommendation of termination.
  • Utilize CMMS for assignment of work orders to technicians and monitoring of progress to completion.
  • Develop work instruction and train personnel.
  • Coordinate and schedule group workload.
  • Develop personnel to grow and assume greater responsibilities that fit into a succession plan for future growth.
  • Train and support APU personnel in regard to maintenance on equipment.
  • Manage to deliver Key Performance Indicators and monitor trends.
  • Immediately report on equipment not capable of performing within specifications.
  • Coordinate with managers regarding scheduling maintenance and when repairs must be performed including expected completion date or time.
  • Escalate issues to the appropriate department managers.
  • Responsible for implementing and sustaining LEAN, 5-S initiatives.
  • Implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal staff and key customers.
  • Facilitate teamwork and promote collaboration across department and central functions.
  • Support and maintain all policies of the company.
  • Ensure all equipment has necessary documents and procedures.
  • Perform and document all preventative maintenance activity.
  • Maintain accurate records of calibration activities and training records.
  • Assist with New Equipment Qualifying. Project Management, Plant Expansions, Plant layout, Modifications.
  • Lead installation and removal of new and used equipment.
  • Maintain tools and components needed to perform tasks per current Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Implement programs and procedures required for plant cleanliness.
  • Provide a safe working environment for all employees, including the use of proper PPE and participate in plant wide safety training as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • 5 years of experience in maintenance of large equipment with an additional 3-5 years of management experience.
  • Mechanically inclined with ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs, and stand / sit / walk up to 80% of shift.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with Injection Molding Machines and Assembly Automation.
  • Ability to coach and mentor on an individual and group basis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-task environment with minimal supervision.
  • Critical Thinking skills, with the ability to categorize, prioritize, and communicate information to multiple sources.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong team player.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Both ISO 8 Clean Room production environment and general office with travel in between.
  • Occasional travel between campus buildings by car or foot.
