Shop Floor Inspector
Location: Santa Fe Springs
Shift: Full Time - First Shift 6am - 2:30 PM Monday - Friday
Pay: $25.00-$28.00
Position Overview: As a Floor Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our high-quality standards are met. You will be responsible for inspecting aerospace parts on the production floor, ensuring they meet the required specifications and tolerances. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for quality in manufacturing
Responsibilities

- Provide inspection of in-process machined aerospace parts.
- Inspect supplied product according to the applicable drawing and or work order specifications to verify that it conforms to all design requirements using inspection tools (surface plate, height gage, indicators, calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, thread gages, etc.).
- Perform complex inspections following standardized methods.
- Complete in-process inspection, visual and/or dimensional inspection of precision machined parts.
- Ability to review drawings and identify improper callouts/datum structures, according to ASME Y14.5.
- Document inspection results using AS9102 Forms or Inspection Checksheets.
- Interact proactively with production to improve products and reduce defects.
- Assist in non-floor related inspection duties, such as hardness testing, or other duties as needed in the inspection department.
- Communicate and help resolve quality related issues.
Qualifications: - Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Floor Inspector in a precision manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with production teams.
Preferred Skills and Experience :
• Understanding of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management systems
• Solid computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Ability to review drawings and identify improper callouts/datum structures, according to ASME Y14.5
• Thorough understanding of all layout inspection tools (surface plate, height gage, indicators, calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, thread gages, etc.)
• 3+ years of experience with blueprint reading, shop math or GD&T
• Experience working in a machine shop
