Location: Mineola, NY Type: Full time permanent employment Pay: $25.00-$45.00 Per hour DOE HVAC Lead Sheetmetal Mechanic is responsible for:
- Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
- Inspects the structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from the installation of ductwork.
- Locates and marks the position of ductwork, connections, and passage holes for duct in walls and floors using ruler, level, and Sets up and operates soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts.
- Assembles and installs sheet metal ducts, fittings, and hangers composed of metals such as iron, steel, copper, brass, and sheet lead and nonmetals such as fiberglass, vinyl flex duct, concrete ducts, and plastic using hand tools and power tools and etc..
- Joins duct and fittings using screws, bolts, S and drives, flanges, solder, solvents, caulking, and weld joints.
- Fabricating and installing ductwork and other metal parts.
- Others duties as assigned
What you will need to have: - 3+ years of commercial HVAC
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, problem recognition and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and to deadline.
- Ability to work as part of a team with a strong sense of teamwork. Highly motivated.
