SUMMARY
Directs and defines activities of the Design Eng/Testing & Programs organization. Provides engineering support to other departments/organizations to support station/company goals
EDUCATION
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Required)
EXPERIENCE
• 5 Years experience in engineering, licensed operator activities or maintenance supervisory experience in support of nuclear power production.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred. (Preferred)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
DESIGN ENGINEERING TESTING AND PROGRAMS MANAGEMENT:
• Sets priorities and schedule, reviews and monitors organization activities, evaluates impact of internal and external factors (e.g., technology, regulations, business environment), and implements response plans.
• Reviews and approves engineering documents (e.g., drawings, specifications, and procedures), engineering related studies, plans of action, investigations, and recommendations for purchase.
• Prepares/edits reports, disposition papers and presentations for upper management review. Prepares and delivers oral and written communications relating to organization activities (e.g., reports, presentation, and division meetings).
• Represents department/company on internal work teams and committees and with external entities.
• Ensures Station, Management and Regulatory commitments are met.
• Knowledge of mechanical material properties, non-destructive examination techniques, vibration monitoring techniques, and associated ASME or equivalent codes required to support station engineering programs.
• Knowledge of nuclear plant systems and operational activities.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
• Ensures development plans are in place and followed.
• Performs personnel activities for direct reports (promotions, salary changes, counseling, performance appraisals).
• Prepares and delivers oral and written communications relating to work group and station activities (e.g., reports, presentations, department meetings).
• Monitors work group reports and recommendations to assure evaluations, assessments and support are effectively developed and communicated.
• Develops and maintains appropriate technical expertise within the work group to ensure adequate talent to perform meaningful assessments and program oversight.
• Represents department/company on internal work teams and committees and with external entities.
• Maintains composure in high stress or adverse situations.
• Understands and implements company policies.
• Provides employees with tools and training necessary for them to perform their assignments.
FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Maintains fiscal records and procedures of the department to ensure the effective and efficient operations.
• Understands and manages to financial and budget targets. Incorporates financial analysis into strategic decisions.
• Proactively monitors and interprets ongoing financial performance and responds strategically.
• Incorporates financial analysis into strategic decisions and takes accountability for financial decisions within area.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accept ERO position as needed.
• Accept outage position as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
• Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
• Travel may be required.
• May be required to carry a phone.
WORK LOCATION
• Site - Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
